I ran my second 10k this morning, Fans on the Field. This run is a great event for any sports fan in Colorado, as we get to run through the Pepsi Center, Coors Field and Mile High Stadium. Last year the run was full of glitches, but this year everything went really smoothly (except for a several minute wait to cross the finish line.) If my time this year is worse than last year, I blame that bottleneck! ;-)
- An early morning at Mile High stadium! It was chilly, but the early arrival is a must!
- At the starting line
- And we’re off!
- Approaching the Pepsi Center where the Colorado Avalanche and Denver Nuggets play!
- Me and Rocky, the Nuggets mascot. Nuggets showed the most support for the runners this year, giving us Rocky, dancers and a basketball player! Go Nuggets!
- Avs weren’t represented at all this year. Maybe they are getting ready for the Stanley Cup? These disabled athletes were playing hockey for us though!
- Running through Denver
- It’s a good sign when you start seeing the faster runners coming toward you…must be turning around soon!
- At Coors Field, home of the Colorado Rockies, me and Dinger
- Coors Field, where we “stay off the grass!”
- Mile 6!!! Almost done!
- Into Mile High! That’s me in blue on the jumbotron!
- When I got to the finish line the time was in the 1 hour 14 minute range….it was a good three minutes before I could actually cross it!
- Me at Mile High!
- Fans on the Field 10K finisher!

You rock!
